Job Description

Our client is looking to employ a Cyber Security Specialist.

Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate in this role will be expected to:

• Apply critical thinking to challenge and push the boundaries of security
• Maintain the integrity, availability and confidentiality of information that has been entrusted to the organization
• Enhance security incident response using automation
• Be a cyber security evangelist creating awareness on the security program
• Keep up-to-date and effective security controls
• Maintain the security posture of the network within best practice guidelines
• Resolve support issues within the service level agreement
• Track and support the resolution of security events
• Audit and align the information systems configurations to security policies
• Monitor and optimize technical dashboards
• Comply with applicable data and information handling regulations
• Discover, compile and maintain diagrams of the security controls across the network
• Ensure adherence to the organization standards and policies across the technology estate
• Be curious and keep up to date on the latest developments in security
• Conduct skills transfer sessions to ensure seamless integration of security into systems
• Set an example for secure practice in the use of information systems
• Protect information assets on remote endpoints and on the local network
• Deliver reports that reflect the state of security on the network
• Acquire and keep up-to-date with relevant certification in the security profession
• Develop standard operations processes to enhance security controls
• Align daily work efforts to deliver on the key strategic objectives of the organization

Experience
An engineer with 3 years information security operations experience
Experience in the following security operations areas:

• The deployment of security controls across all layers of the OSI model
• The management of security on cloud-based systems
• End-point Detection and Remediation systems
• Security incident and event management
• Deployment of secure architecture
• Network intrusion detection/intrusion systems
• Web application firewalls
• Network access control systems
• Email and web security systems management
• The management of AAA systems
• Multi-factor authentication
• Encryption systems and key management
• Device software patching and upgrades
• Virtual private networks
• Network hardening controls
• Linux operating system hardening experience
• Security on hypervisor platforms
• Transport layer encryption protocols
• Mobile device management

Technical Requirements
One or more of the following certificates:

• Check Point Certified Security Expert
• Cisco Certified Network Professional xe2x80x93 Security
• Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner

Certification in the following areas will be advantageous:

• Public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
• Virtualization security
• Web application firewall technologies

Knowledge of the following is key:

• Security good practice and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
• Vulnerability Management and Threat hunting
• Azure Security Center and Active Directory
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) type service delivery models
