Job Description

A corporate events manager is responsible for creating successful corporate events that leave memorable experiences for the members of the hosting organisation or firm.

Duties & Responsibilities:


-Conceptualising, designing, and creating high-profile external events that portray the organisation in a positive light to media, government officials and other key stakeholders.
*Events include corporate seminars, conferences, year end functions, product launches, celebrations, etc.
-Working with client budgets to create cost estimates to align with their selected look and feel for their event. Also creating expense sheets to keep track of all expenses.
-Designing recommendations for strategic approach, budget, and creative direction of new events.
-Managing communications and promotional materials for events.
-Influencing and negotiating with external partners for preferred rates.
-Do full project management for events, e.g., timelines, venue proposals, hiring of suppliers, complete legal obligations, booking staffing, and creating budgets.
-Coordinate the event on the day including supplier and timeline management.
-Planning room layouts and designing the floor plan of the event.
-Planning the entertainment program, scheduling speakers, and demonstrations.
-Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings.
-Liaising with marketing and PR colleagues to promote the company.
-Overseeing the breakdown and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently.
-Performing post-event evaluation; including data entry and analysis, and producing reports for event stakeholders.

Requirements:


-3 years of event management experience
-Extensive knowledge on managing vendors and partnering with external businesses in supporting an events
-Participation in executing large-scale events of 1000+ people at external venues
-Experience leading a diversity of events, from small or medium-sized venues to large celebrations in the firm or at external venues
-Demonstrated awareness of event production best practices and trends, as well as experience implementing creative digital event features, is an added advantage
-Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
-Strong attention-to-detail, self-directed initiative, resourcefulness and drive for innovation
-Exceptional time and resource management
-Operational project management skills and experience creating work plans, meeting agendas and other collaboration tools
-Strong customer-orientation and proven reputation of collaborative work relationships
-Strong influencing and negotiation skills
-Ability to prioritise workload and act with appropriate urgency
-Demonstrated proactive commitment in evolving events based on feedback and guidance
-Effective, independent decision-making ability
-Calm appearance under pressure
-Readiness to work outside fixed business hours if necessary (e.g. mornings, evenings, and weekends)
-Capacity to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation.
-Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
-Ability to meet strict deadlines.
-Excellent administrative skills and knowledge of Xero, Microsoft office and iOS systems.

Qualifications:



-Degree or diploma in Event Management or similar

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R18000,00 - R22000,00 per month

Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
