Job Advert Summary

PURPOSE:
  • To coordinate and implement learning delivery plan, strategies, policies, frameworks, methodologies approaches based on Business Unit learning needs requirements for functional learning area of responsibility.


Minimum Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certificate in ETDP level 5 (Essential/Minimum)
  • Skills Development Facilitator (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate of Competence: Assessor (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate of Competence: Moderator (Essential/Minimum)
  • Trade: Artisan(Relevant) MQA/QCTO Accred (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
  • Diploma in ETDP Level 6 (Recommended/Desirable)
EXPERIENCE:

5 years Relevant experience in the following: Training or Human Resource Development facilitation and adult learning principles, content authoring tools, Education, Training and Development cycle, instructional design, SAP training and events, Learning Management Systems, administration processes and Human Resource systems. (Essential/Minimum) Operational
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities

Administration and Document Control
  • Assist with the development and administration of learning material toward supporting learning interventions to ensuring compliance and quality
  • Responsible for inventory management by ensuring applicable record keeping and notifications including arranging training pack, venues and stock
  • Offer support and guidance to employee learners and e-learners and continuously follow up on their progress
  • Assist with the compilation of relevant reports on interventions training statistics/progress and feedback from clients/stakeholders as and when required

Best Practice and Knowledge Management
  • Implement best practice into strategies and learning solutions in areas of responsibility
  • Ensure development and integration of cost-effective talent and learning solutions
  • Participate in and contribute towards relevant network groups to ensure learning best practice thinking and thought leadership for BU
  • Identify best practices across system and ensure that successful programs are shared across company
  • Participate and contribute in relevant industry forums and network groups

Budget and Cost Control
  • Oversee and control annual training planning and related costs for area of responsibility
  • Recommend and incorporate cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters

Compliance, Governance and Assurance
  • Execute necessary measures to ensure all competence training provided is aligned with National Qualifications Framework (NQF), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) standards, company policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
  • Ensure Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) standards are maintained within training team
  • Align training with national initiatives (e.g. National Skills Strategy)
  • Ensure compliance to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)/MQA accreditation standards through quality management system documentation control
  • Maintain and monitor relevant learning policies, systems, processes, structures and/or projects

Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management
  • Foster close working relationships with line management
  • Attend regular meetings at areas
  • Manage internal/external relationships to ensure compliance training standards are upheld
  • Manage internal marketing of training/learning to achieve total capacity utilisation
  • Liaise with business units (alignment standardisation benchmarking)

Effective People Management
  • Promote teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans for subordinates
  • Oversee HR related activities of reporting staff

Financial Management
  • Manage operational and manpower budget
  • Manage and control allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure

Internal Business Processes
  • Ensure employees/learners receive proper accredited training
  • Coordinate on the job training required for engineering and mining employees (related skills programmes)
  • Execute necessary measures to ensure all artisan training provided is aligned with NQF, SAQA, MQA standards, company policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
  • Manage training/learning process, compliance and related schedules and ensure engineering and mining training plans are updated and available at all times
  • Maintain and monitor relevant learning policies systems, process structures and/or projects
  • Provide regular feedback of training data to transformation forums
  • Attend skills development forum as representative (mining and engineering disciplines)
  • Coordinate and develop Workplace Skills Planning (WSP) and annual training needs and processes and ensure accurate reporting

Safe and Healthy Work Environment
  • Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA's)
  • Ensure safety comes first
  • Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operations practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
  • Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations

Training and Development
  • Manage direct subordinates' performance and development to ensure good performance delivery, retention and talent development
  • Support subordinates to prioritise workload and monitor availability of tools and resources required
  • Advise line management regarding identification of training needs and processes
