Conveyor Belt Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Conveyor Belt Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of conveyor belt systems to ensure safe and efficient operation at mining and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
Install, splice, and repair conveyor belts (rubber, fabric, steel cord)
Carry out belt tracking, tensioning, and alignment
Inspect conveyors, pulleys, idlers, rollers, and belt cleaners
Replace damaged components and perform preventative maintenance
Assist with conveyor shutdowns and breakdowns
Ensure compliance with safety standards and site procedures
Complete job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records
Work closely with supervisors and team members on-site
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience as a Conveyor Belt Technician
Knowledge of conveyor systems, pulleys, idlers, and belt accessories
Experience with hot and cold splicing (advantage)
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Medically fit for mining/industrial environments
Good understanding of safety procedures
Valid driver's license (advantage)

Physically fit and able to work under pressure
Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
Willing to work shifts, overtime, and shutdowns
