Job Description


The Communication Specialist drives effective communication strategies to enhance internal and external engagement, brand presence, and organisational messaging. This position is pivotal in ensuring clear, consistent, and compelling communication that aligns with CDRs objectives, strengthens stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communication Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans aligned with organisational goals and values.
  • Identify key messages and target audiences, tailoring communication strategies for maximum impact.
  • Brand Messaging and Positioning:
  • Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to reinforce Nedbank's brand identity in all communication materials.
  • Internal Communication:
  • Coordinate disseminating key information, updates, and announcements to all staff levels.
  • Work closely with leadership to manage and mitigate communication challenges.
Job Responsibilities Continue
  • Content Creation:
  • Produce high-quality written and visual content for various platforms, like SMS, Emailers, Call Scripts.
  • Ensure content reflects the brand voice and resonates with target audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Gather feedback and insights to inform communication strategies.
  • Metrics and Analysis:
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
  • Analyse data to refine strategies and continuously improve communication outcomes.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Diploma
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
  • Relevant Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum Experience Level
  • More than 5 years working experience and relevant industry experience.

Work Experience
  • Proven experience in communication strategy development, corporate communication, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Crisis management and issues resolution experience.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with debt management processes and client-centric initiatives.
Technical / Professional Knowledge
  • Communication Strategies

  • Writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills
  • Knowledge of the printing/publishing, broadcast, digital & social media industry practices & princip
  • Ability to apply Integrated Marketing Communications by optimally applying the relevant communicatio

  • Experience in developing and implementing media/ advocacy and/or communication campaigns
  • Ability to engage in a relevant and credible manner with internal and external stakeholders at vario
  • Knowledge and understanding of business and marketing strategies and applying this to communications
