Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
CNC Setter/Operator
with specific experience inCNC gear cutting
processes. Experience in conventional gear cutting will also be considered if paired with CNC machining experience in a different field.Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC hobbing and shaving machines in line with job specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings and machining programs. Perform first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment (micrometers, veniers, gear measuring instruments). Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain production tolerances. Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines. Adhere to safety and quality procedures at all times. Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate. Formal CNC training or equivalent trade qualification. Minimum
3-5 years' experience
in CNC Hobbing and Shaving operations. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and machining symbols. Knowledge of machine offsets, feeds, and speeds. Familiarity with quality control practices and ISO standards in a manufacturing environment.Key Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets. Good communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
