NEW OPPORTUNITY - CLINICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE COACH

xf0x9fx91xa4 Reporting to: Operational Manager
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic Clinical Quality Assurance Coach to lead and implement quality assurance strategies across both clinical and operational service areas. The successful candidate will assess service quality, identify training needs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. They will be responsible for coaching and training teams-both individually and in groups-to enhance service delivery and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
xe2x9cx94 Nursing Degree
xe2x9cx94 Business Management qualification OR an accredited certificate in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, and/or Training
Key Competencies & Skills:
xe2x9cx85 Strong knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and the distinction between Quality Control and Quality Assurance
xe2x9cx85 2-3 years of relevant experience within a medical scheme or managed healthcare setting
xe2x9cx85 Advanced computer proficiency, including data analysis, system workflows, and process optimisation
xe2x9cx85 Experience working with MS SharePoint for content management and collaboration
xe2x9cx85 Excellent training and coaching abilities, with proven experience developing and delivering training materials
xe2x9cx85 Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
xe2x9cx85 Knowledge of pre-authorisation, case management, and client service processes in a medical scheme environment
xe2x9cx85 Familiarity with the South African healthcare industry, regulations, and coding structures (ICD-10, CPT-4, NRPL, PMB conditions, and clinical protocols)
xe2x9cx85 Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently
xe2x9cx85 High level of accuracy and attention to detail
xe2x9cx85 Results-driven, with the ability to compile reports and meet strict deadlines
xe2x9cx85 Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (clinicians, healthcare facilities, and colleagues across departments)
Key Responsibilities:
xf0x9fx93x8c Quality Assurance & Improvement:

  • Develop and implement a structured quality management programme to standardise service excellence.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews per user according to a set schedule.
  • Analyse audit reports to identify trends, gaps, and areas requiring training or process improvements.
xf0x9fx93x8c Training & Coaching:
  • Deliver training and coaching sessions, both one-on-one and in group settings, to address knowledge gaps in subject matter, processes, and systems.
  • Work closely with departmental team leaders to ensure training aligns with performance needs.
  • Lead quality awareness sessions for employees.
xf0x9fx93x8c Operational & Compliance Oversight:
  • Perform root cause analysis on escalations and implement corrective actions to enhance quality outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for processes, policies, and system limitations affecting service quality.
  • Keep senior management informed of legislative changes that may impact quality assurance.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across all service areas.
