Job Description


Experience and Skills:

The candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Suitable qualifications to include either Environmental or Chemical engineering or a BSc Hons. (Chemistry, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, or Geochemistry) with an MSc in any of these subjects as an advantage.
  • Have 2-4 years experience in Climate Change Management and development of emissions inventories.
  • Be able to critically evaluate and analyse information or data.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have experience in report writing specifically writing of scientific reports and integrating scientific information therein.
  • A candidate registration (Cand. Sci. Nat or Cand. Eng.) or training towards an equivalent and appropriate GHG quantification accreditation would be an advantage.
  • Other skills advantageous to the position comprise GIS, statistics or mathematics, data analysis, modelling or programming.
General Requirements:

The successful candidate is expected to:
  • Develop emission inventories based on project data using performance guarantees or emission factors under supervision of senior scientists.
  • Contribute to climate change impact assessments as part of the climate change team including reporting.
  • Coordinate inputs to projects and work within tight deadlines and on multiple projects.
  • Liaising with clients and project teams under supervision of senior team members.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and tender bids.
  • Have strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally - A valid drivers license and own transport would be an advantage.
  • Be a self-driven individual with a positive and proactive approach.
