Our client has an opportunity available for a Climate Change and Resilience Advisor based in Bloemfontein.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Climate Change, Environmental studies or closely related qualifications.
3+ years' experience of which 1+ years has been at an equivalent level within a large organisation.
Understanding of policy and legislative frameworks in area of responsibility.
Knowledge of the company's business and sustainability requirements.
Proven record of success.
Good understanding and experience in the political environment and with gravitas persuasive influence in a complex multi-sphere stakeholder environment.
Good international experience and exposure to internal implementation protocols of local government policies, accords and realities.
Understanding of project management principles.
KPAs:
Perform support activities to benchmarking exercises under guidance from seniors and specialists.
Represent municipalities at relevant meetings and committees within professional discipline.
Guide, support and provide advice to municipalities in the areas of focus.
Coordinate the logistical arrangements for training programs in the area of focus and professional discipline.
Implement project management methodologies and disciplines.
Ensure that projects are conducted against contract specifications and payments based on agreed milestones.
Ensure that all project records are uploaded into the company knowledge management system.
Build and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships in the area of responsibility.
Work as a multi-disciplinary and integrated team to find possible solutions to complex challenges in municipalities.
Implement the performance management and development processes into the company to drive high performance.
