Job Description

RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. The Civil Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and costs are controlled effectively. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the largest corporates and contribute to their success.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review estimates, budgets, and cost plans for construction projects
• Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide accurate cost forecasts for materials, labor, and equipment
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to assess and evaluate potential risks and provide cost-effective solutions
• Monitor project progress and financial performance, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules
• Verify and analyze contractor claims for variations and adjust budgets accordingly
• Conduct regular site visits to assess and validate actual site conditions and quantities against estimates
• Prepare and present reports on cost variations, project performance, and financial metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Civil Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of cost control, cost planning, and project management techniques
• Proficiency in computer-aided estimating software and Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with project stakeholders
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities
