Civil Construction Safety Officer
Location: this position is site-based
We are seeking a
Safety Officer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by conducting inspections, enforcing safety regulations, and promoting a culture of health and safety on construction sites.Main Responsibilities:
Conduct site safety audits, inspections and hazard identification. Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation measures. Ensure compliance with the OSH Act and company policies. Investigate incidents and accidents, recommending corrective actions. Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and training sessions. Maintain accurate records of audits, incidents and training. Support emergency preparation and response planning. Advise supervisors and workers on safe work practices. Assess subcontractor and SMME safety performance. To promote a proactive safety culture and lead by example.Minimum Requirements:
Diploma or Degree or NQF Level 5 qualification in SHE Management or a related field. SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer is required. 3-5 years of experience in a construction safety role.Please consider your application as unsuccessful if you have not been contacted within 30 days of the closing date.
