SACPCMP Registered Construction Safety Officer

Location: East London, Eastern Cape

Company: Established Construction Company

Contract Duration: 4 Months (with potential for extension)

Position Overview:

We are urgently seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer who is registered with SACPCMP to join our team for a dynamic project based in East London. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction safety management and be adept at ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.

- Provide training and guidance to all employees on safety protocols and procedures.

- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary permits and documentation are in place.

- Promote a culture of safety within the workplace.

Qualifications:

- SACPCMP registration as a Safety Officer is essential.

- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction environment.

- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

- Proficient in safety management software and reporting tools.
