Take ownership of Plant Instruments & Control and strive to reduce equipment downtime and ensure high Plant availability at a minimum cost.
Execute Instruments & Control day to-day maintenance activities according to MAXIMO notification and priority set up by Line manager.
Perform troubleshooting activities as necessary along with the EC&I Engineer, Maintenance colleagues and Operations, to determine failure causes and rectify defects found.
Ensure that contractors have all needed resources and tools to conduct Instruments & Control maintenance activities effectively and that tasks they perform are properly recorded in CMMS.
Assists in preparing and scheduling daily jobs.
Review vendors' documents, maintenance manuals and spare parts lists.
Participate in drafting Instruments & Controls maintenance procedures necessary for Plant operations
Report all jobs carried out and record them properly in MAXIMO.
Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Participate in Nationals Development Programme
Enforce and adhere to all SHEQ policies & procedures during execution of maintenance activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non-conformities.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical Diploma / N6 in Instrumentation
Qualified Instrumentation Artisan (Redseal)
Valid Driver's license
+/-3 Years' experience in C&I Maintenance of Power Generation or continues process plants
1 Year experience in performance of thermal cycles of solar power plant
Knowledge of P&ID, VFD)Power Electronics, SD500-700) will be advantageous
Hands on experience in the maintenance and repair of PLC's, Control equipment and SCADA systems, will be advantageous
