Job Description


JOB PURPOSE
Partners with the CEO and business unit leaders in the development and rollout of the companys vision and strategy, leads diverse activities, and oversees improving and safeguarding financial results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy Formation & Implementation
Spearheading strategies to steer the companys future in a positive direction.
Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and resource management
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
Driving the companys operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals.
Controlling company costs and introducing tactical initiatives to address theft and other losses.
Ensure the provision of financial, material, technological and human resources to support operational strategies aligned to Group
Build the group brand
Development of product and services that will differentiate us from our competitors.
Business Planning
Lead the development of annual and longer-term business plans for a significant function or small local business, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other key performance indicators) and resource budgets (financial and headcount); and ensure integration of key activities or projects across the organization.
Drive Business Performance
Manage and report on business performance.
Hold direct reports accountable for achievement of business plans, and take corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of business
objectives, balancing the need to deliver short term business objectives with the longer term delivery of stakeholder value.
Be accountable for the aggregate plan and delivery of operations, properties and maintenance and the general operating model.
Ensure that business change projects are delivered in line with directions from
Executive Management level.
Coordinate the efforts of the different operational areas under management to ensure minimal duplication of efforts, maximum efficiency and to maximize value for money.
Re-balance resources between different areas
Contribute to the development of business unit strategy by providing a view on potential improvements for products or services and an assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment.
Operations Management
Develop, monitor and review operational expenditure budgets to support growth strategies
Ensure the implementation and provision of sound financial, Business
Intelligence and insights and Customer Relationship management.
Ensure the provision of financial and material resources to support operational strategies
Ensure adequate vendor, service provider and other agreed stakeholder management across all channels
Develop and implement sales objectives, strategies and budgets
Ensure the achievement of revenue and retention targets
Ensure the implementation of Marketing and Public Relations strategies
Strategic cost management
Business optimisation including quality, and not at expense of effectiveness
Drive continuous OPEX improvement and ensure optimal allocation.
Assist the Chief Executive Officer in overseeing the companys achievement and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within its industry.
Budgeting
Take overall responsibility for setting and approving budgets that achieve organizational strategy.
Corporate Representation
Represent the organization in external relations with investors, clients, the public and others. Will focus on a significant function or equivalent area of the business.
Corporate Governance and Risk Management
Formulate policies and procedures in line with relevant legislation and ensure implementation thereof.
Identify potential and current risks.
Develop and implement policies to mitigate potential risk.
Report identified risks to relevant stakeholders and action plans thereof.
Leadership and Direction
Through effective inspirational leadership, facilitate the creation of accountable, full service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Role model behavior and motivate team members in line with the core values.
Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.
Provide support and guidance on career path planning, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
Develop, promote and direct the implementation of equal opportunities policies in all aspects of the companys work.
Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
Continuous improvement of business processes.
EDUCATION
University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree)

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 15 years of business management experience across a range of disciplines
Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames (More than 15 years)
