Project Description:
FHI 360 is seeking applications for a Chief of Party position for the USAID-funded Capacity Development Support (CDS) Program in South Africa, which contributes to the achievement of the PEPFAR Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) 90-90-90 targets by facilitating access to HIV testing, ensuring linkage to care and treatment, and supporting adherence and viral suppression among all its beneficiaries. FHI 360 CDS implements two projects 1) Family Strengthening targeting orphans, vulnerable children, and youth (OVCY), and 2) DREAMS to reach adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). The projects also address many of the social and structural factors that increase the vulnerability of these beneficiaries to HIV infection, such as harmful gender norms and gender-based violence (GBV).
The CDS project was awarded to FHI 360 on June 10, 2014, and is anticipated to end on March 31, 2024. The selected candidate will be hired to manage a project that is ending implementation activities on December 31, 2023, and work with the project team with support from the regional and HQ office to closeout the project by the second quarter of COP23/FY24.
Position Summary:
The Chief of Party will provide overall direction, thought leadership and management to the CDS Project. They will lead the implementation of a complex program to increase the availability, and to improve the quality, of HIV prevention as well as care and support services for persons xe2x80x93 particularly adolescents and young women xe2x80x93 living with HIV and AIDS primarily through Local Implementing Partner (LIP) channels. The COP will oversee the day-to-day operations of the project and be responsible for timely submission of key contractual deliverables. Working with the project team on closeout activities, they will oversee the transition of beneficiaries to new USAID partners and oversee the close out processes of both IES and OVC programs and support the finalization and submission of all closeout project deliverables due to USAID.
They will have the leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical expertise and experience, professional reputation, management experience, interpersonal skills and professional relationships to fulfill the diverse managerial and technical requirements as described in the program description.
