Job Description

A well-established NGO is currently seeking a suitably qualified CFO to join their team in Johannesburg, North. The ideal candidate will be an experienced CA(SA), ideally with previous NGO or Healthcare industry exposure, who will be tasked with the full responsibility of the finance function.

Responsibilities:

• Formulate and uphold an organizational financial strategy consistent with the overarching organizational goals.
• Evaluate and enhance existing financial strategies, propose improvements, and establish functional objectives in accordance with the organization's vision.
• Create and oversee robust control systems to meet the requirements of funders, external auditors, and government authorities.
• Spearhead financial risk management by scrutinizing internal control systems and presenting findings to the Board.
• Provide guidance to the Finance team in executing financial transactions, ensuring adherence to budgets, and delivering insightful analyses.
• Assist Grants Management in budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and accurate reporting.
• Supervise compliance control systems and suggest enhancements.
• Direct the payroll team to ensure precise payroll processing and adherence to compliance standards.
• Actively engage in leadership meetings, cultivate a culture of transparency, and cultivate efficient teams.
• Ensure personnel possess appropriate skills and have access to relevant learning and development opportunities.
• Manage year-end audits and address auditor inquiries.
• Represent the company at forums, platforms, and institutions as required.

Requirements:

• Registered CA(SA) with 12+ years experience.
• Experience in a senior financial management position.
• Previous exposure working with financial grants would be highly advantageous.
• Effective management and communication skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role, managing large and complex finance teams.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
