Job & Company Description:
This position is an operational finance and commercially driven role, and the incumbent will be required to work closely with the Executive and Management teams to drive and deliver on financial strategy by supporting key business initiatives through the relevant planning, business development and reporting requirements. You will oversee the financial, administrative, regulatory, record-keeping and risk management responsibilities, and work alongside other members of the executive management team to determine and drive the overall direction for the business.

This position requires an individual with a background in business turnaround strategy and implementation. The Chief Financial officer will ensure ongoing viability and secure their financial future in line with the organisations business objectives, inline with Group objectives. You will be supported with resources from the Group to ensure the successful turnaround of the entity.

This position is 95% operations and commercially driven, however, you will be 100% responsible for ensuring an optimal finance department. Team of 25 individuals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Using your understanding of the financial position of the company to influence decision making and actions towards the achievement of agreed strategic objectives. The role is responsible for driving the financial strategic plan to drive sustainable financial results, provide strategic advice and drive operational finance and governance excellence, monitoring and reporting to enhance the decision-making process of the company
• Be responsible and accountable for all aspects of financial management and accounting
• This position is a commercially driven role and the incumbent will be required to work closely with the Executives and Management teams to drive and deliver on the divisions financial strategy and will be required to support key business initiatives through the relevant planning, business development and reporting requirements
• Oversee the financial, administrative, regulatory, record-keeping and risk management responsibilities; and work alongside other members of the executive management team to determine an overall direction for the business
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial results, budgets, forecasts and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Groups accounting policies
• This position requires an in-depth understanding of the companys budget and expenses, as well as any monitoring and investigations of discrepancies if required
• Manage the flow of money between the various business partners making sure the company can meet all financial and regulatory obligations, both internal and external
• Review detailed financial reports and make recommendations based on such reviews
• Ensure that the company has adequate risk mitigation in place to monitor claims and fraud
• Manage the relationship and year-end reporting timetable with the external auditors
• Drive the appropriate governance and compliance for all relevant financial policies and controls across the business, and must have a sound understanding of IFRS

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• CA(SA)
• 15+ years post articles experience
• Telecommunication, IT, Retail, FMCG background preferred
• Ability to articulate complex information
• Strong leader must successfully lead a team of 25 people
