Job Description


The CEO is responsible for ensuring organisational strategic objectives are developed, approved and supported by operational plans ensuring the sustainable value creation and business growth of the company and further achieving the Board expectations through the successful research, production and provision of quality animal health solutions in a safe, cost effective and environmentally sound manner that ensures high standards of product quality.
The incumbent is further responsible for ensuring the strategic management and leadership of the entity including the financial and critical resource management to ensure that strategic organisational growth objectives are successfully achieved.

Strategic Planning and Management
- Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Organisational strategy and objectives.
- Develop, implement and monitor an operational strategy and plan for the company that is directly aligned with the organisational strategic objectives.
- Guide the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the organisational policies and procedures as required.
- Guide and advise the Board and Executive on industry best practice policy and procedure standards and measures.
- Ensure alignment of all divisional policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Guide the selection and implementation of relevant systems, frameworks and initiatives that ensure delivery in line with the legislative framework and organisational objectives of the company
- Ensure the strategic implementation and effective forecasting, planning, scheduling and review of operational systems and procedures across the organisation.
- Profile and position the organisation as a leader in the manufacturing and supply of cost-effective quality animal health solutions.
- Lead the establishment, review and monitoring of strategic performance indicators related to the companyxe2x80x99s strategy and business plans and drive the identification of areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation.
- Sustain the organization through effective procuring, planning and managing of financial and other resources for optimal performance.
- Proactively demonstrate a visible presence and engagement with relevant entities, stakeholders and activities related to the organisationxe2x80x99s strategic impact objectives.
Capable Ethical and Developmental Leadership
- Lead the implementation of organisational strategic targets, performance management, and the required cascading of performance objectives in order to drive operational success throughout the company
- Ensure the provision of strategic leadership for the company in the areas of quality assurance, financial growth, continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
- Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and development of all staff within the organisation.
- Maintain a professional environment that sets the example for the business by living the company values every day.
- Inspire continuous focus on improving overall productivity through engagement with employees.
- Ensure the creation of an environment where staff are developed, engaged and successfully retained.
- Lead and guide the determination of staffing requirements and overseeing all personnel processes for the Office of the CEO as well as the larger organisation, such as staff development, mentoring, coaching, recruitment and engagement.
- Ensure an optimal and efficient Organisational Structure is designed, implemented and maintained and is informed by the required organisational competencies to meet strategic objectives.
- Lead initiatives to ensure that specific fit-for-purpose roles are identified and implemented to enable achievement of strategic objectives by competent people.
Financial Growth and Sustainability
- Provide strategic input and advice to the Board and Executive on the formulation of organisational budgets, plans and forecasts.
- Lead the formulation of annual budgets on behalf of the organisation for Board approval.
- Ensure alignment across the organisation of all divisional budgets to drive the companyxe2x80x99s revenue and efficiency objectives.
- Lead the monitoring of the financial performance of the company against plans, budgets and targets, and drive the implementation of corrective measures.
- Lead and ensure the publishing of the annual financial statements for use by the shareholders and other stakeholders.
Ensure that all operational costs are contained while maintaining high levels of impact, performance and customer service excellence.
- Lead the development of best practices to achieve the larger organisational financial cost and growth goals.
- In collaboration with the CFO, ensure that capital investments are delivered within budget in terms of their envisaged estimated total cost; and ensure the implementation of the financial risk management strategy across the company
- Responsible for overseeing that all organisational assets are managed and maintained to the companyxe2x80x99s standards.
Continuous Improvement of Business Processes
- Actively drive initiatives to enhance the company's reputation, impact and visibility locally and internationally to serve as the first choice of cost-effective quality animal health solutions.
- Account to the Board on the performance and business development goals of the organisation.
- Continue the transformation of the company, with particular regard to its contextual knowledge production, staff capacity-building and organisational structure and culture.
- Lead the implementation of Product and Marketing evaluation initiatives and partner with relevant stakeholders to continuously evolve the companyxe2x80x99s product offerings and business development goals.
- Lead and guide the management of all Research and Development functions within the company to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives and compliance with all relevant regulations and statutes.
- Lead and guide the management of all Operations, Sales and Marketing functions within the company to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives and compliance with all relevant regulations and statutes.
- Guide the delivery of the mandate of the company in terms of the growth objectives and the changing science and innovation landscape of the industry.
- Ensure the effective research and manufacturing of quality product categories aimed at specific channels and markets.
- Lead the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities for optimisation of Research, Production and Sales processes, environment and facilities.
- Ensure production plans are continuously optimised to achieve strategic availability and packaging requirement
Stakeholder Management
- Lead the identification and mitigation of internal systems and procedural barriers to enhance excellent customer service.
- Drive the development and implementation of fit-for-purpose divisional service standards across the organisation.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving internal and external stakeholder relations through effective stakeholder identification and prioritisation practices across the company
- Build and maintain effective internal and external strategic stakeholder relationships for the purpose of expectations management, knowledge sharing and integration, and to manage the organisationxe2x80x99s reputation.
- Provide for the creation and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with all relevant stakeholders at the highest level by ensuring that all partner obligations are met, and expectations exceeded.
- Lead and represent the organisationxe2x80x99s Board and Executive committees and task teams as required.
- Ensure the effective management and resolution of all complaints or issues through timely resolution and/or escalation as required acrossthe company
- Ensure the effective evaluation of services related to contracts with external service providers to ensure delivery of required service(s) are met and meets the required standard.

Risk and Compliance Management
- Lead organisation-wide efforts aimed at the mitigation of the overall risk profile of the company
- Perform all regulatory and statutory duties required of the Office of the CEO as it relates to the Board, Executive and all other operational requirements.
- Lead the mitigation of the organisationxe2x80x99s risk profile through driving the timeous identification of internal and external factors, the application of fraud controls and risk prevention principles, and implementing of sound governance and compliance processes and tools to identify and manage risks.
- Lead the coordination and maintenance of strategic quality risk management in line with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation of compliance with policies and procedures aimed at strengthening the company reputation and stakeholder interface.
