Milk on the Beach is a vibrant, beachfront restaurant known for relaxed coastal dining, fresh flavours, and warm hospitality. Our food is designed to match the view -- bright, clean, and full of flavour. We're looking for a passionate CDP to join our energetic kitchen team and help us deliver consistent excellence.

Role Summary



The Chef de Partie is responsible for running a designated section of the kitchen with precision, consistency, and creativity. You'll ensure dishes are prepared to our high standards, assist with menu execution, and contribute to a smooth, organised service -- from sun-soaked breakfasts to sunset dinners.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational



Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section to Milk on the Beach standards. Maintain quality, portion control, and presentation across all menu items. Assist in developing new dishes and improving existing recipes. Ensure all mise en place is completed before service. Manage your section efficiently during busy service periods. Ensure correct storage, labelling, and rotation of stock. Support with stock control, ordering, and reducing waste.

Hygiene & Safety



Uphold high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene at all times. Adhere to

South African food safety and HACCP standards

. Follow all health & safety procedures, including safe use of equipment. Keep fridges, storage areas, and workstations clean and compliant.

Teamwork



Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Train and mentor Commis Chefs where needed. Communicate effectively with the entire kitchen and front-of-house team. Maintain a positive, respectful, and team-focused attitude.

Requirements



Minimum 2-3 years experience as a CDP or strong Demi-CDP looking to step up. Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Passion for high-quality, flavour-driven food. Ability to maintain high food safety and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
