Our client operates an award-winning 5-star boutique hotel in Plettenberg Bay, perched above the coastline with breathtaking ocean and mountain views. The property combines cutting-edge design with warm hospitality and offers guests a unique experience, featuring:
- A fine dining restaurant showcasing seasonal, locally sourced produce
- Sophisticated Bar/Lounge and elegant guest spaces
- Landscaped gardens, luxury amenities, and world-class service
- Currently a 40-key luxury property, the hotel will expand to 140 keys within two years, making this an exciting time to join the team.
Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join the kitchen brigade. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to maintain consistent quality in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present dishes to the highest standard across allocated section
- Assist with menu development and implementation
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Manage mise en place and ensure efficient service during peak times
- Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure consistency and quality
- Mentor junior staff and assist with training when required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
2-3 years' experience in a Chef de Partie role within a 4? or 5? hotel or fine dining restaurant
Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and seasonal menus
Ability to work independently on a section and under pressure during service
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
Positive attitude and a team-oriented approach
