An exclusive boutique hotel on the Garden Route near Plettenberg Bay is seeking a talented Chef to lead its kitchen operations. This live-in position offers a salary of R10,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience), with board and lodging included.

Our client, a beautifully situated boutique hotel on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay, is looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for hotel and restaurant guests. With capacity for up to 26 in-house guests and 40 restaurant covers, the property offers an intimate, service-driven environment that values quality, creativity, and attention to detail.
As Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, planning seasonal menus, and ensuring dishes are both nutritious and cost-effective. You will lead a small team, provide training, and work hands-on to ensure food is consistently prepared to the highest standards. Additional responsibilities include stock control, ordering, staff meal planning, and enforcing kitchen hygiene and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will combine creativity with solid organisational skills and a hands-on leadership style. Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 plus recognised culinary qualification
• Previous experience as Chef in a hotel or restaurant environment
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills
• Knowledge of seasonal menu planning and cost control
• Fluent in English; strong communication skills
• Own transport preferred
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic hospitality environment
