-Delivery & Performance

General

Translate the global Supply Chain business strategy into the area specific strategy, critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets with consideration of risk identification.

Drive collaboration and alignment across the business globally on requirements, priorities, critical tasks and performance targets.

Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities.



Commercial Value Delivery & Supplier Partnering

Responsible across the global portfolio of categories for developing and delivering integrated, medium to long term category strategies and business cases that enable sustainable value; strategies to ensure security of supply; supplier partnering that drives innovation and value; negotiation of bespoke global framework agreements; contract life-cycle management (with contract administration); as well as supplier and contract performance management.

Collaborate with internal technical and broader Supply Chain Managers in the development of global value creation strategies, business cases and joint supplier engagement priorities.

Facilitate the development of elevated strategic supplier partnerships that enable co-innovation and development of cutting-edge solutions to our business challenges with a strong focus on ESG.

Establish supplier/contractor relationships that position Anglo American as partner of choice and manage performance to ensure full value-in-use.



Planning

Provide strategic input to target setting and progress tracking against targets including uploading and tracking of benefits.

Provide area specific input to commercial planning activities (frontloading, commercial planning, inclusive procurement pipeline development) to ensure delivery to plan and schedule.

Ensure that all activities relating to category management, sourcing and contracting events are planned, scheduled, resourced and executed in a timely and visible manner.

Provide input to the Supply Chain budget and resource requirements.



Sourcing & Contracts Management

Accountable for end-to-end sourcing, contracting, contract management and administration activities, ensuring effective, efficient and timely execution across allocated portfolio (timeous and accurate capturing of price updates for contracts in the system).

Negotiate and conclude Global Commercial Agreements in line with category strategies, accountable for ensuring agreements are primed for regional implementation and seamless, quality handovers to on-site supply chain teams that will support site-based implementation and day to day performance management.

Support the on-site Supply Chain teams in the effective implementation and management of contracts, clarifying scope, roles, responsibilities and performance expectations and manage resolution of escalated issues.

Work with Group Legal to develop bespoke agreements that outline amongst other things, innovation, intellectual property, data governance, inclusive procurement, joint development, relationship and performance expectations (technical and commercial) as well as associated joint initiatives.



Inclusive Procurement

Responsible for embedding Inclusive Procurement strategies and plans across allocated portfolio of categories and in support of the broader inclusive procurement ambition, strategy and targets.

Responsible for embedding clear Inclusive Procurement expectations, targets and initiatives in commercial agreements and accountable for managing delivery thereof.

Collaborate with Inclusive Procurement teams to obtain input with regard to the inclusive procurement strategy, community specific needs & opportunities as well as delivery plans.

Drive a culture of community development and inclusive procurement with all stakeholders, underpinned by clear objectives and aligned to the global and regional Inclusive Procurement strategies.

Support the global Inclusive Procurement team to identify supplier development needs and opportunities, and support the development of solutions.



Sustainability & Social

Drive an increased focus on sustainable value creation where community, safety, environmental, health and commercial benefits are integrated for delivery of sustainable value over the long term and across the portfolio of categories.

Identify and implement sustainability and social related initiatives that will support delivery of the category portfolio strategy and targets.



Physical Supply Chain

Drive strong connectivity with regional materials management and warehousing teams to ensure alignment on future demand requirements, working capital optimization opportunities and the resolution of supplier non-performance.

Support the optimisation of Materials Planning through category strategy, contracts and alignment with Physical Supply Chain.



Supply Chain Excellence

Holistic monitoring of team, category, contract and supplier performance across the portfolio and intervene proactively where required.

Work with the Centre of Excellence to define, adopt and improve commercial excellence and leading practice.

Lead the adoption of standards, new ways of working and systems usage within own team, with suppliers and key stakeholders.

Establish and oversee relevant category specific Community of Practices, to facilitate sharing and drive category technical excellence.



People & Teams

Lead, develop and coach a team of collaborative commercial professionals with deep category, business and industry knowledge.

Oversee and manage work planning, execution, resource balancing and team performance.

Manage and track teamxe2x80x99s adherence to planned timeframes on contracts/modifications of sourcing activities.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with standards, designated systems, governance, ethical and legal requirements and communicate changes to legal requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Manage compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements.

Ensure regular, timeous and accurate reporting pertaining to all portfolio activities.

Qualifications
-Qualification: An undergraduate qualification - Bachelor degree level or equivalent

Experience: Proven track record of extensive practical experience in relevant field

Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masterxe2x80x99s degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity



Technical Knowledge:

Good technical knowledge across the SC value chain

Safety & sustainability as it relates to Supply Chain & Inclusive Procurement

Strong commercial, negotiation and deal-making, business case development, investment appraisal

Working knowledge of regional and local legislative and Anglo American requirements pertaining to Inclusive Procurement and Responsible Sourcing relating to set portfolio

Advanced Category Management and sourcing & contracting knowledge with TCO approach

Advanced skills in SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and SPM (Supplier Performance Management)

Critical and systems thinking capability
