Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a Category Management approach aligned with the overall Procurement Strategy and Policies.
  • Demonstrate deep technical expertise and proven experience in IT Category Management as a Procurement professional.
  • Serve as an Account lead for one or more Business Units and provide Source to Pay advisory support to Finance Business Partners, CFOs, and HODs.
  • Establish category priorities and planning based on identified benefits opportunities.
  • Lead the planning and application of Strategic Sourcing using a structured methodology to address the total cost of ownership within the category.
  • Hold the mandate to negotiate, sign, and terminate contracts within applicable categories, depending on Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Lead, develop, and manage cross-functional category teams in the Strategic Sourcing process.
  • Manage internal stakeholders, collaborating with business partners to secure valuable agreements that meet their requirements.
  • Lead the development and monitoring of the Supplier Management Strategy, Approach, including Supplier Relationship Management and Performance Management.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers to execute Contract Management as part of Category Management/Supplier Management activities.
  • Execute contract implementation to maximise future compliance and address issues with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Plan and set a contract implementation strategy in collaboration with central and regional buyers and, when applicable, with the PTP Manager.
  • Be accountable for Category Benefit Tracking, identifying cost-saving opportunities and measuring the results of sourcing and procurement initiatives.
  • Lead and collaborate with Sourcing analysts and Sourcing Specialists in various Strategic Sourcing activities.
  • Manage suppliers by facilitating Commercial Supplier Performance Management for strategic and preferred suppliers, where applicable.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of eProcurement, e-Sourcing, and e-Tendering tools.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant IT procurement experience in a similar role, preferably in highly regulated industries.
  • Deep technical experience in IT Sourcing and Category Management with a focus in the IT Category.
  • Deep understanding and ability to execute on Project and Program Management.
  • Stakeholder Management.
  • Proven analytical skill and ability is essential. Strong competencies in data cleaning, sorting, visualisation, analysis and modelling is required.
  • Advanced negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage leaders within a team.
  • Experience with managing Preferential Procurement and Enterprise and Supplier Development.
  • Can-do go getter attitude with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Qualifications:
  • Ideally, candidates should have advanced university qualifications.
  • Preferably in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain Degree, Commerce, or another relevant discipline.
  • Candidates should possess a recognised qualification in procurement.
  • Working towards a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification is mentioned.
  • Having MCIPs (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) is considered an advantage.
