Cashbook Clerk I Bookkeeper - Cape Town (CBD) - Immediately available Join an international company based in Cape Town's CBD as a Cashbook Clerk I Bookkeeper. This is an in-office role offering a challenging, fast-paced environment with opportunities to learn and develop your skills. We're looking for someone with tenacity, grit, and the ability to pick things up quickly - ideal for a detail-driven individual who enjoys problem-solving and working with numbers.
Role:
- Manage the daily cashbook, recording all transactions accurately.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Import and reconcile payment gateways (PayPal, Stripe, Mollie, etc.) - training provided.
- Process supplier payments, employee reimbursements, and vendor invoices.
- Allocate customer receipts to the correct accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records to support reporting and audits.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, including German-speaking suppliers.
- 2+ years' experience in a cashbook, accounts payable, or similar finance role.
- Strong reconciliation and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems.
- Knowledge of payment gateways (advantageous, but training provided).
- Resilient, proactive, and quick to learn.
- Excellent communication skills; German an advantage.
