Minimum Requirements:

Matric/Grade 12 Relevant qualification in Buying would be advantageous. 5-6 years Buying experience in a retail environment. Good understanding of Retail.

The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Excellent attention to detail Good communication skills Numeracy and accuracy skills Quality orientation Time management skills Negotiating skills

Responsibilities:

Formulating a strategy for forthcoming season. Designing and building a balanced assortment and presenting to Executives and Directors. Brief suppliers and negotiate programs and fashion drops. Buy a balanced assortment according to the assortment sales plan. Constantly monitoring current trend to react to trade, then actioning the effects of both current and forthcoming buys. Analysing past seasons, strategizing for forthcoming seasons based off trend and sales and then presenting to managers. Consistent monitoring of competitor price points. Product sourcing and supplier sourcing. Store visits. * Signing off of approvals/fits.
