Key Responsibilities

Constantly keeping your finger on the pulse of ladieswear trends and translating them into a winning strategy. Developing and influencing cross-functional partnerships with all specified key relationships. Applying brand-relevant trends to your department and categories, identifying must-have pieces, and building a collection that deeply resonates with our target market. Sourcing and selecting the correct suppliers for appropriate product categories and managing them according to Company policies and procedures. Partnering with top suppliers to find high-quality products within budget and on time. Sourcing and procuring products within agreed quality specifications & standards, and ensuring compliance. Delivering on aggressive targets and maximizing margins. Ensuring the timeous execution of procurement administration to meet critical path target dates in the supply chain.

Qualifications

A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric (essential). A diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A minimum of 3 years' experience in buying within a retail/buying environment (at least one of which is footwear buying). An obsession with shoes. A strong knowledge of what's trending - everything from the runways to the streets. A keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of footwear construction. A master negotiator and relationship builder, capable of securing win-win deals with suppliers. A true team player with strong communication and collaboration skills. Highly organized, adept at managing time effectively, and able to meet deadlines. * Experience travelling internationally for sourcing would be advantageous.
