Job Description
Hiring: Packaging Buyer (Pinetown, Durban)Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase packaging materials in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Support manufacturing teams and communicate any supply issues.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments for purchasing processes and new projects.
- Provide cost analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and review savings opportunities.
- Prepare purchase orders, schedules, and follow up on outstanding orders.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues related to price, quality, or delivery.
- Monitor inventory records.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar systems.
- Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic industries preferred.
