Job Description


Our client based in Johannesburg has a 12-month contract based in their Cape Town Operations & Distribution Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day to day leadership and operational support to the business and operational sites (Sales centres) in Southern Africa, ensuring best in class service and product availability to the Members.

This encompasses:

  • Customer Service & Warehousing management at the various sales centres.
  • Inventory management and Data analytics for the Sales Centresxe2x80x93 Ensuring that the Inventory controls are adhered to as well as continual analysis of inventory data parameters used to maintain the correct levels of working capital management at each of the sales centres
  • Compliance and reporting xe2x80x93 Ensuring compliance to SOPs and reporting requirements for Sales centres as might be updated and changed from time to time
  • Leadership & Training xe2x80x93 Afford guidance, support and training as is required by all team members within said area of responsibility, all the time ensuring the team owns their roles and fulfills their duty with the appropriate level of alacrity and attention to detail.
  • Continuous Improvement xe2x80x93 SOPS and operational parameters notwithstanding, incumbent must demonstrate a perpetual focus of continuous improvement in an effort to drive efficiencies
  • Ownership, development and implementation of all cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvement projects which will drive organizational benefits via business Operations and the Sales centres within Southern Africa.
  • Systems and infrastructure support xe2x80x93 Provides support and facilitation to GTS on member facing IT infrastructure, e.g., GDO, GOC, Payment platforms
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervision of all Sales centers (2 x Sales centre supervisors & 1 Team leader (Zambia)) as well as direct supervision of the Cape town Sales centre staff.

  • Interacts with all levels throughout the internal and corporate organization, with Distributors and with Customers.
  • Innovative, progressive and creative strategic thinker, putting efficient plans into action, producing effective results and concerned with attention to detail in the completion of tasks, even if not undertaken personally.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Educated to at least Grade 12 level.
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 5 years in a service industry (experience of working in an International environment preferable)
  • Evidence an exceptional customer care track record proving levels of focus is key in this arena
  • The desire and passion to exceed customer expectations and challenge continually to make a positive difference to the team, internal customers and Distributors
  • Proven experience of handling direct customer contact and resolving conflict
  • Strong leadership skills with flexibility to lead with various styles as deemed appropriate to create change and opportunities for development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player
  • Experience in working in an international environment and with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • A fast learner with experience of Change Management
  • Full command of the English language.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Should be able to handle a variety of tasks and be able to prioritize
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to instill passion and motivation amongst the team
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel is essential
  • Strong desire to excel
  • Well-organized with excellent time management skills
