Rand Water is looking to fill the following vacancy at their offices in
Glenvista, Johannesburg
. The successful candidate will be reporting the Group Chief Executive (GCE). The overall responsibility of the
Business Efficiency and Integrity Executive
will be to ensure business efficiency and integration in the operations, planning, and execution of the group's business activities, therein ensure business performance to meet demands from all stakeholders across the group.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education:
A recognized Honours Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 8) or equivalent.
Desired Education:
A Master's Degree in Management (MBA or MBL) and Engineering or Natural Sciences (NQF Level 9).
Minimum Experience
: 5-7 years governance, compliance and technical experience at executive level in a similar role.
Desired Experience:
8-10 years experience in a technical and highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
Minimum Knowledge:
Bill of Rights, Water Services Act, PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, CIDB, FIDIC, SANS, ISO, etc.
Desired Knowledge:
Best global practices and trends.
Primary Duties
Ensure alignment of all group's business initiatives and activities to Rand Water's strategic objectives, strategic plan, business plan and the shareholder compact.
Ensure that Rand Water, at group and subsidiary levels, complies with regulatory and governance requirements including prevention of non-compliances and responding to internal and external audits.
Ensure integration and efficiency in the group's risk identification and mitigating measures are implemented, monitored and evaluated.
Ensure that the Executive Committee's, Board, and Board committees' resolutions are timeously and sufficiently followed up.
Ensure monitoring and evaluation of Executive Committee (EXCO), Board, and Board committees' submissions to and from GCE's office.
Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of business activities and service delivery obligations across all functions and in line with the strategic pillars.
Co-ordinate (status) reporting, to and from the GCE's office, concerning progress and programs of various management committees.
Respond on behalf of GCE to enquiries received from internal and external stakeholders.
Lead projects carried out by the GCE's office through application of effective project management principles.
Research, analyze information and compile documents/reports/presentations for the GCE. Ensure that Ministerial level impacts have been explored and all risks (pertaining to internal and external programmes) have been identified and mitigation strategies developed.
Ensure that audit responses are aligned and comply with defined processes and procedures.
Scrutinize complex technical and administrative submissions/reports and make abbreviated summary notes and/or recommendations for the GCE regarding these documents.
Co-ordinate and compile reports of a transverse nature for the Executive and advise/sensitize the CE on reports to be submitted (e.g., EXCO; board and board sub-committees, portfolio committees).
Serves as the primary conduit for contact for internal and external matters pertaining to the office of the GCE of Rand Water, including dissemination of information pertaining to all activities, programs, resolutions, policy directives etc.
Co-ordinate information, reporting, participation and implementation of matters raised in both internal and external programmes.
Set up and maintain systems in the Office of the GCE that will contribute towards improving efficiency in the office.
Ensure, oversee and advise on the effective flow of information and documents to and from the GCE's Office.

to the water industry.
