Job Description


A dynamic financial services distribution company is looking for business development consultants who will be responsible for sales, service, and retention across a range of healthcare, financial services, and employee benefit products. Business development consultants will be required to execute sales strategies, reach sales targets, and develop long-term, successful networks across employer and broker networks. The successful business development consultant is expected to have experience in managing, developing, and converting new business opportunities and ensure retention across a range of products through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service & sales skills and build rapport with key stakeholders. Ultimately, the ideal candidate is expected to continually meet or exceed sales targets.

Locations: Cape Town and Johannesburg

The exciting role entails the following key attributes:

Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential corporate employers while actively promoting organic growth and cross-selling initiatives.

Ability to build lasting relationships with industry associations, decision makers, providers, and brokers across multiple industries.

Arrange weekly onsite meetings with providers, brokers, employers, and key role players to establish and maintain relationships in pursuit of referrals and new business conversion.

Weekly reporting to Executive team.

Continuous client engagements through presentations and training sessions as required.

Continuous evaluation of sales and retention techniques, e.g., stakeholder information and channels through which enhanced footprint can be established.

Developing an in-depth understanding of company products and services.

Following up on leads generated by the company in active drive for conversion.

Researching competitors products and their respective market performances.

Keeping up to date of new developments in the relevant financial services and healthcare industries to determine the effect of such developments on product and business strategies.

Minimum requirements: Qualifications

RE 5 (essential minimum)

Business related tertiary qualification will be beneficial.

Minimum requirements

Minimum 3 years sales experience in the Healthcare, employee benefits or financial services sectors.

Willing and able to travel extensively, including overnight trips.

Valid driver's license & own reliable vehicle, which maintains the desired professional company image.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Effective communication skills.

Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Excellent organisational skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.
