We're looking for a Business Analyst who's passionate about the intersection of technology and Intelligence Analysis (Corporate or Government - Military, Police, or Law Enforcement). In this role, you'll serve as a key connector between business stakeholders and our technical team, using our in-house business process builder, designed around BPMN 2.0 principles, to automate and optimise workflows. You'll be responsible for analysing current processes, gathering requirements for new initiatives, and driving changes to enhance existing workflows. This is a great opportunity for a BA with 3+ years of experience who's ready to shape Intelligence operations through effective process automation.
Core Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Improvement
Dive deep into existing business processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
+ Conduct root cause analysis to understand underlying process issues.
+ Develop recommendations for process changes and improvements based on data-driven insights.
+ Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process efficiency and track improvements over time. Provide actionable recommendations for enhancing process efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements Gathering
Partner with business stakeholders to collect detailed requirements for new and existing processes.
+ Utilise various techniques such as interviews, workshops, and document analysis to gather business needs.
+ Prioritise requirements based on business value, technical feasibility, and impact.
+ Create detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to guide development efforts. Lead workshops, interviews, and other discovery methods to flesh out business needs and translate them into technical specifications.
Documentation & Process Design
Document requirements clearly, creating user stories, process maps, and functional specifications that guide the development team.
+ Develop comprehensive process flow diagrams using BPMN 2.0 standards.
+ Maintain an up-to-date library of business processes and associated documentation.
+ Ensure documentation reflects changes accurately and is accessible to relevant stakeholders. Design business process flows using BPMN 2.0 and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with Business Process Engineers (BPEs) to translate requirements into BPMN 2.0 models within our software.
+ Coordinate regular reviews with BPEs to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
+ Act as a liaison between the development team and business stakeholders to clarify requirements during implementation.
+ Facilitate communication to resolve any conflicts or misunderstandings regarding process design. Facilitate reviews with stakeholders to present process designs and gather feedback, iterating as needed.
Change Management & Quality Assurance
Manage updates and modifications to existing business processes based on evolving requirements.
+ Conduct impact assessments for any proposed process changes, including risk analysis.
+ Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure changes meet functional and non-functional requirements.
+ Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining test cases, preparing test plans, and assisting with issue resolution. Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes and collaborate on testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
Technical Requirements
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related fields.
3 -5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the tech industry, ideally with exposure to intelligence or process automation projects.
Background in business process improvement or automation, with experience across multiple products.
Experience working with Intelligence Analysis products or services, and/or have worked for Police, Military, other Government agencies or Private Security Firms/Technology Companies
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of BPMN 2.0 for process modelling.
Familiarity with process automation tools like Flowable, Camunda, or similar platforms.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Skilled at breaking down complex processes and identifying optimization opportunities.
Experience with impact analysis, risk assessment, and change management strategies.
Communication & Collaboration
Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Ability to convey technical requirements in a way that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
