Job Description

In the world of Building Management Systems (BMS), the role of a technician is crucial for maintaining and optimizing building operations. The BMS Service Technician position will manage and oversee the installation, servicing and maintenance of BMS systems in and around Johannesburg on a daily basis.

BMS Technician Overview

Manage and oversee the operation of building management systems
Ensure system functionality and performance meet operational standards
Perform regular maintenance and emergency repairs
Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex issues
Document and report system performance and issues
Installation, maintenance, and repair of BMS systems
Monitoring and optimizing system performance
Providing technical support and troubleshooting issues
Responsibilities

Install and configure BMS hardware and software
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Analyze system performance data and implement improvements
Troubleshoot and repair BMS issues promptly
Maintain accurate records of system performance and repairs
Liase professionally with technical role players on site
Requirements and Skills

Proven experience with building management systems
Basic PLC experience and knowledge
Basic knowledge of MODBUS, MBUS and BACNET protocols
Basic knowledge of Microsoft visio
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Basic IT knowledge
Computer literate
Basic undertstanding of instrumentation
Basic undertstaning of input and output communication on PLC's
Technically orientated as PLC programming is required on site
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring schematics
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Experience in the field of megatronics would be advantageous
Electrical or mechanical engineer experience would be advantageous
Basic Understanding of HVAC and Controls Systems
Advantageous - Desigo CC, Tridium Niagara, Siemens ABT
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R10000,00 - R25000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Gauteng, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:

BMS / HVAC: 2 years (Required)

English (Preferred)
Willingness to travel:
