Purpose of the Role:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Transform raw data into actionable insights to support business decision-making. Build and optimise dataflows, pipelines, and semantic models. Ensure data governance, security, and compliance. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective BI solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent NQF-7 in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL300)
Advantageous: Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP600)
Advantageous: Post-graduate qualification (NQF Level 8 ), Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP700)
Experience:
3-5 years in BI development/data analytics
Proven experience with Power BI, Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure services
Strong DAX, Power Query M, SQL, Python scripting, CI/CD workflows
Familiarity with data governance, compliance (POPIA, GDPR)

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reports
Build and optimise dataflows and pipelines within Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse
Connect to diverse data sources (Azure Data Lake, Dynamics 365, SQL, APIs) and ensure data accuracy and reliability
Implement data governance, security (including row-level security), and compliance standards (POPIA, GDPR)
Develop and maintain data transformation scripts and automation processes using Python and Power Query M
Provide training and support to business users; host training events and establish a community of practice
