Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Manager to oversee our workshop operations and lead our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient workshop operations, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management

Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure smooth workflow Monitor and maintain workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality standards Coordinate scheduling of work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency and resources Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Manage workshop layout, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation
Team Leadership

Supervise and manage workshop technicians and support staff Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork Handle staffing issues, including recruitment, discipline, and conflict resolution
Quality Control & Customer Service

Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures Review completed work to ensure it meets company and customer standards Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally Build and maintain strong customer relationships Ensure timely completion and delivery of services
Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labor hours Prepare reports on workshop performance, productivity, and costs Manage inventory levels and coordinate procurement of parts and supplies Monitor budget and control workshop expenses Ensure proper documentation and compliance with industry standards
Required Qualifications Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (Trade qualification preferred) Minimum 5 years of workshop or technical experience At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience Relevant industry certifications (preferred)
Technical Skills

Strong mechanical/technical knowledge relevant to the industry Proficiency in workshop management software and MS Office Suite Understanding of health and safety regulations Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Leadership & Communication

Proven leadership and team management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Customer service oriented mindset Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications

Post-secondary education in a related technical field Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies Knowledge of inventory management systems Bilingual capabilities (specify languages as needed) Previous experience in similar industry or workshop environment

Working Conditions

Pay: R20000,00 - R65000,00 per month
