A family is looking for a QUALIFIED INTERMEDIATE PHASE TEACHER to AU PAIR for their son aged 12 years old in Grade 7

ADD (attention deficit disorder) - main challenges relate to attention, concentration, task initiation, and sustaining focus, particularly during academic work. He tends to rush through tasks in order to finish quickly and often takes shortcuts, especially with handwriting and written work. He requires regular reminders to slow down, focus on task quality, and remain engaged. He benefits from external structure, clear expectations, and ongoing prompting as well as structured movement or play breaks approximately every 45 minutes, which help him regulate and re-engage. He responds well when academic support is balanced with interaction and play

Duties:

Walk to school in the mornings (school is 700m from the home), in most cases, school collection will not be required, as he is usually already home by that time. Afternoon sessions would focus on homework, academic support, concentration strategies, and structured breaks. Support the child in improving sustained attention and concentration, encourage an appropriate work pace and task completion, reduce rushing and careless errors, support handwriting endurance and task quality, develop self-regulation strategies using structured breaks and encourage engagement through interactive and play-based activities where appropriate

Requirements:

female aged 25 - 30 years old, active, non-smoking , Christian. Experience with ADD and ADHD & Intermediate Phase Teaching qualification

Start Date and contract term:

January 2026 start - 1 year long contract

Salary: R20 000 per month (gross before deductions) + SARS rates per km

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.

Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.

Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.

Must have a clear criminal record

Must have a passion for children

Must have Matric

Must have a South African ID document.
