Job title: Au Pair for Two Neurodivergent Siblings
We're seeking an au pair to support two brothers, aged 11 and 13. They enjoy playing Roblox, building with Lego, being creative, and spending time with someone who offers calm, low-demand companionship.
We're looking for someone experienced in working with young neurodivergent individuals, with a strong understanding of autism, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and depression. Familiarity with a low-demand, low-arousal approach is essential. The ideal candidate will be calm, flexible, and patient, with the ability to respond supportively to each child's individual needs and rhythms.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To be a supportive, consistent presence for two young people with unique support needs--offering gentle guidance and care that enables them to thrive. A genuine interest in building connection, and a passion for being a reliable, safe source of support, are essential.
Job Objectives:
Build a trusting relationship with both boys.
Spend time connecting with them and engaging with their interests.
Provide support and scaffolding to reduce uncertainty and potential anxiety, anticipating possible triggers.
Assist with school pick-ups and transport to appointments or outings.
Help with homework and studying when needed.
Fulfil a supportive au pair role with flexibility and attunement.
Prepare simple meals when required.
Respond with calmness and adaptability to changing situations.
