Assist in the preparation of all pastries, desserts, breads, and confectionery
Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation
Support inventory management and stock control for the pastry section
Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery
Contribute to recipe development and seasonal menu updates
Minimum Requirements
2-4 years' experience working in a pastry or bakery environment
Culinary diploma or formal training in pastry arts is preferred
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, doughs, and dessert preparation
Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP)
Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to presentation
Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
South African citizenship or permanent residency
Key Responsibilities
Prepare pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to set recipes and standards
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all products
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry kitchen
Assist with stock ordering, storage, and rotation
Follow all health and safety protocols strictly
Support the Head Pastry Chef during service and special events
Participate in team training and development activities
