Key Responsibilities
Assist with
daily butchery operations
Supervise staff when required
Ensure correct
meat handling, cutting, and portion control
Maintain high
hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards
Assist with
stock control, rotation (FIFO), and wastage reduction
Help receive and check deliveries
Support staff training and workflow
Assist customers and handle basic queries
Ensure equipment and work areas are safe and clean
Requirements
Experience working in a
butchery environment
(essential)
Basic supervisory or leadership experience (advantage)
Good knowledge of
meat cuts, hygiene, and food safety
Honest, reliable, and hardworking with leadership skills
Willing to work
weekends and public holidays
South African ID or valid work permit
