Reporting to the Engineering/ VAC Manager Job Purpose: Effectively assemble, build, commission, troubleshoot and repair automated valve packages. Maintain on time build schedules for new shop-built valve automation assemblies, maintaining a consistency of build quality and workmanship throughout. Manage inventory of accessories, fittings and tubing needed to integrate automated assemblies, while working closely with the operations and engineering team to seamlessly execute and continuously improve processes. Record testing and documentation, and complete systematic transactions. Work effectively with VAC Manager, Project Planner, Engineer, Project Manager and other relevant teams. Roles & Responsibilities: TEST & ASSEMBLY: Physical attributes to lift, move and carry equipment < 30kg for assembly without mechanical assistance. Assembly of basic valve assemblies. Assembly and function testing of complex automated valve assemblies. Strip and quote/ assessment of customer used valve assemblies including cost estimation for repair/ refurbishment. Assisting on customer sites with valve installations, valve repair and fault finding. Assist with the set up and execution of assembly and test activities. Hosting of customer FAT. Responsible for record keeping of tests performed and assemblies done in the VAC. GENERAL: Responsible for the planning, scheduling and coordinating VAC workload. Planning Ensuring resources and material will be available when needed. Scheduling Assigning work schedules, establishing progress and communicating any deviations. Coordinating Distributing workload, establishing priorities and being responsible for day-to-day activities of the assigned work. Responsible to ensure quality of the work meet or exceeds all standards of the organization. Maintains a general awareness amongst staff of the quality standards and promotes the importance of quality. Daily communication and updates. Management of consumable, tools and special tools (VAC Store) Management of measuring equipment and records. Management of maintenance of special tools and VAC equipment. Assisting with creation of local assembly standards and procedures. Management of housekeeping in the VAC work areas Ensuring all company quality standards and procedures are complied with. Ensuring HSE standards and procedures are complied with in the VAC area.
Qualifications & Experience: Certificate in Mechanical assembly skills (National Diploma in Mechatronics or similar will be an advantage) 3 - 5 years of experience working as an Assembly and Testing Technician in a similar industry Knowledge: Experience in valve and automation industry, with direct experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic and electric automation and controls.
