Purpose of Job

To lead and manage a production team, and interface with service departments. To oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. To plan and draw up a production schedule; decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures that self and team meet targets, due dates and comply to quality standards.
  • Compile annual production budget; Control cost to ensure the production budget is achieved within budget
  • Translate and cascade operational goals and long-term plans through effective two-way communication in the division.
  • Demonstrate One Natref behaviours - ensure area under control is managed to the benefit to the larger Natref value chain.
  • Take accountability for driving own growth through developing self-awareness, reflecting, seeking feedback and self-correcting.
  • Establish and report on agreed performance criteria.
  • To manage costs effective and efficiently Minimize wastage and off spec material.
  • Have monthly financial meetings with subordinates to ensure proper cost control. Ensure financial discipline and governance in the department.
  • Consistently improve productivity.
  • Lead in continuous performance improvements within his/her areas of responsibilities, including Health Safety and Environment
  • Continuous improvement of key safety, quality, and environmental metrics to maintain license to operate.
  • Ensure that agreed specification and production volumes are achieved, efficiently and safely SHE Performance - manage operations risks by making sure that all hazards are identified, analysed, and mitigated to acceptable levels.
  • Execute SHE strategy to achieve zero harm.
  • Asset Management - manage, revise and improvement of Asset Management standards for maintenance / operations.
  • Living the Sasol values and aspirational culture
  • Ensure that processes, control standards, and resources are in place for Foreman to execute Production activities to the required standard.
  • The processes, control standards and resources must ensure that the agreed on-specification, production volumes are achieved, efficiently and safely in adherence to the weekly schedule and monthly plan
  • To ensure that production contributes to the increase of the business growth.
  • Align shutdowns and equipment outage with the value chain to maximise business performances. Ensure compliances to safety, quality, environmental and legal requirements.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment within OWAP.
  • To govern all SLA between business units and service departments.
  • Authentically and inclusively engage people to follow; lead culture transformation and embed diversity.
  • Build capability that leverages diversity for competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen, a global mind-set and exercises sound judgement Achieve results through others and hold them accountable.
  • Review performance regularly and give recognition where it is due and deal with performance issues.
  • Manage and develop employees effectively; provide a succession plan; achieve the diversity targets.
  • Be responsible for employee wellness.
  • Lead organisational change innovation and sustainability. Manage and mentor the Foremen in your division.
  • Persuade and influence stakeholders; build relationships and partnerships for win-win outcomes.
