Key Responsibilities:

In Field Category Establishment & Brand Building

  • Coordinate & manage the execution of ongoing brand building activities aimed at driving category, brand activity & product buy-in amongst the relevant retail, on-consumption, and new channel networks within the designated area
  • Identify, negotiate, and drive forward a combination of B2B, B2C, digital and out of home opportunities in both established & unconventional touchpoints to drive category and brand awareness amongst the target audience
  • Leverage all activities as far as possible, to generate trial amongst the target audience
  • Measure activities to determine the optimal mix required to achieve overall awareness, trial, offtake, and ROI KPIs (check JD)
Product & Usage Education * With the support of the Back Office Executives (BOE's), coordinate & roll-out in-trade & remote educational content/activities to drive understanding of the product benefits & usage amongst both channel & consumer audiences
  • Identify channel understanding gaps & work in-field with channel partners as well as with BOEs to close these digitally
  • In conjunction with BOEs, coordinate, manage and educate 3rd party teams to deploy face-to face consumer education
  • Conduct in-field observations across channels & activities to gather usage & understanding
  • Feed insights back to BOEs to improve new education content development
  • Capture qualitative consumer & retailer feedback on product, consumer purchase and usage behaviour to feedback to BOEs
Product Availability & Pricing
  • Ensure product handling of relevant SKUs across the desired channel network, connecting
channel partners with distributors & establishing supply (new channels) * Work with channel partners to monitor rate of sale & establish optimal order quantities with the

aim to ensure no out-of-stock situations * Ensure best price availability for consumers, using sound profit structure discussions to

negotiate recommended selling price compliance with channel partners

Channel Partner Management
  • In conjunction with BOEs, input to the channel segmentation, building an understanding of the optimal route-to-market for product and consumer support activities
  • Act as the main contact & support for all channel partners, ensuring the optimal cadence of meetings/POS visits in-person and via digital communication channels
  • Assess ways in which we can support channel partners to ensure product consideration for activities/staging above competitors. Develop and maintain positive relationships with channel partners in support of this
  • Measure and drive achievement of channel partners against KPIs required to develop & grow brand awareness, trial, and consumer offtake
  • Engage channel partners through deployment of relevant trade programs & supporting their performance against program KPIs
Sales Information
  • Ensure accurate capturing of information on relevant tracking tools
  • Analyze data on tracking tools and activity results, identify improvement opportunities, develop, and execute appropriate action plans to support brand awareness, trial, offtake, and ROI KPIs
  • Provide regular feedback to management on market related activities and products.
  • Utilize sales and activity data to structure constructive negotiations/discussions with channel partners
  • Forward looking planning and forecasting using market related insights, data, and competitive information to inform strategic plans for effectiveness.
Compliance & Legal Framework
  • Knowledge of the legal framework related to products
  • Apply the highest standards of integrity and full compliance with all applicable laws and policies and procedures across the organization to support long term sustainability of the business
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications and Experience
  • Matric
  • Bachelor's Degree/ Relevant Tertiary Qualification /Equivalent Work Experience (Brand Building)
  • Driver's License
  • Minimum 3 years of sales or in-field brand development experience within the FMCG sector
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience as leader/manager of a process and/or people
  • Experience building brands in non-traditional sales channels
  • Experience using digital tools (POS, sales mobile applications)
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong English Language proficiency
