Job Summary The ideal apprentice trails guide is technically qualified, personable, and safety-focused. They hold FGASA, ARH, and First Aid, and are actively gaining experience under mentorship. With strong ecological knowledge and a warm, adaptable approach, they create engaging guest experiences while prioritizing ethical guiding and teamwork. Professional, curious, and eager to grow, they're well-suited to a high-end, family-friendly safari environment.
Candidate Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • FGASA and Back-up Trails guide (essential)
  • Valid PDP, First Aid, Rifle Competency or Proficiency
  • PDP permit up to date.
  • Big 5 Safari Game Reserve experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • An understanding of vehicle & lodge maintenance
  • Well-presented, confident, and well-spoken.
  • Passionate about conservation and guests.
  • Must have a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team and individually.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and a great work ethic
Leave cycle is 6/2 week
