The Standard Bank Group is the largest banking group in Africa by assets and has a presence in 20 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, in addition to its operations in 4 international hubs. The Strategic Funding team is responsible for raising hard and local currency funding for the Group and its subsidiaries. As such we partner with Group Treasury in supporting key business initiatives and processes, primarily originating, structuring and executing funding and capital raising transactions, for our businesses in our South Africa, International and Africa Regions markets. Typical transactions include bilateral and syndicated loans, local and international bond issuance, hybrid capital and other structured financings.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the Strategic Funding team and will be expected to engage with key stakeholders and supporting functions across business units and entities on matters pertinent to executing funding and lending transactions in addition to implementing change initiatives, and maintaining the Groupxe2x80x99s relationships with external stakeholders including funders and credit rating agencies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Finance and Accounting, Legal or similar
Other Minimum Qualifications, Certifications or Professional Memberships: Chartered Accountant (CA) or CFA preferred
Experience Required
Treasury Capital Management
A minimum of 3 years of experience preferably working within global markets or investment banking and enabling functions in a transaction structuring and execution role. Experience in transaction execution and project management with a focus on deal structuring, covenant negotiation, review and understanding of legal documentation as well as multiple technical supporting functions such as TCM, Credit Risk and Product Control would be of assistance in performing this role.
