Job Purpose




The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) competent individuals torender financial support services within the department.

Minimum Requirements




Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification).

###

Recommendation




An appropriate tertiary qualification or in the process of completion in Accounting / Financial Management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas




Render financial accounting transactions; Perform salary administration support services; Bookkeeping and admin support services.

Competencies




A good understanding of the following: Financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collate financial statements; Public Service financial legislations, procedures and Treasury Regulations (PFMA, DORA, NTR,PTR,); Financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS); Communication; Interpersonal relations; Flexibility; Teamwork; Accuracy; Aptitude of figures; Computer operating skills; Planning and organisation; Language; Good verbal and written communication skills; Basic Numeracy skills; Ability to perform routine tasks; Ability to operate office equipment.

Remuneration




R 228 321 - R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)



Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes




Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
