The ideal candidate is to be responsible for the preparation, computing, managing, researching, and analyzing of the company's accounting data. We expect you to provide detailed information on the company's performance, liquidity, solvency, and cash flows as well as analyze its financial position and draw conclusions about it.
Key responsibilities:

Record financial transactions in the accounting system
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and verify balances.
Record and verify supplier invoices (accounts payable).
Review and capture staff expenses and tax receipts.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Support VAT calculations and other tax obligations in accordance with SARS regulations.
Assist will all DTIC submissions and audits
Compile and maintain supplier Master data file
Requirements:

Education: Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (NQF Level 5-6).
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a similar role within the South African context.
Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in local accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
Basic understanding of South African tax legislation (VAT, PAYE, etc.)
Familiarity with IFRS and the Companies Act.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English (Afrikaans is a plus).
Professional ethics and confidentiality.
Working days: Monday to Friday (could work Saturdays if required)
