Reporting to the Manager: Group Finance, this role is responsible for the monthly processing and reporting of financial transactions for companies within the Group Finance department. Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of management accounts
Compilation of financial statements
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Budget preparation and support

Minimum Requirements
Formal Qualification:
B Com Accounting.
Bcom honours/equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge and Experience:
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
Articles experience is optional
3-5 years' experience in a commercial finance environment (Insurance and Property industry is an advantage)
Proven analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation in compliance with relevant
accounting standards

Duties and Responsibilities
Reconciliation & Reporting
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to third-party documentation
Preparation of monthly journals
Resolve outstanding issues promptly
Prepare monthly management accounts and variance commentary
Prepare quarterly board reports for the relevant entities
Compile annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
Respond to audit queries and prepare solvency tests where applicable
Perform ad-hoc tasks to support strategic decision-making / on-going projects.
Budget
Prepare budgets for entities within Group Finance and coordinate with relevant stakeholders throughout the budgeting process
Develop and deliver budget presentations for Exco and Board meetings
