A reputable and well-established engineering consultancy company is looking for an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper with strong financial acumen and attention to detail to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general administrative duties within the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Perform general accounting and bookkeeping tasks including billing forecasts, invoicing, and statements.
Manage and report on debtors and collections.
Handle petty cash and credit card allocations and monthly reconciliations.
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general office administration.
Provide support to the Financial Manager with finance-related duties.
Requirements:
Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Experience using accounting or project management software and ERP systems.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word (intermediate level).
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Capable of handling audits, resolving conflicts, and working in a team environment.
