Summary

A regional sales manager is responsible for overseeing sales activities within a specific geographic area. Your primary goal is to achieve sales targets, increase revenue, and expand the customer base.

Your required to possess a high level of technical knowledge and continually develop your understanding of the territory to provide tailored solutions and value-added insights to customers.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Proactively seek out new sales opportunities and follow up on leads provided. Identify potential customers and present product/service offerings to meet their needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers. Provide excellent customer service and support to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products/services and effectively communicate their features, benefits, and value proposition to customers.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Use market insights to identify opportunities for growth and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Keep accurate records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and sales pipeline status.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with other members of the sales team, as well as with marketing, customer service, and other departments, to achieve company objectives and provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide support to the ZEISS Cataract portfolio in South Africa on all OPT devices and related consumables.
  • Support Key Opinion leaders in cataract surgery field.

Education / Professional Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
Experience
  • 3- 5 years professional experience in Medical Sales, ideally in the area of
  • Ophthalmology
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in a B2B or B2C environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce software
  • Knowledge and experience in the theatre environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Ophthalmology market in the region.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
