A Vacancy for a Structural Engineer / Technician in Knysna.

Designing, analysing, and ensuring the structural integrity of buildings, working collaboratively with architects and draftsmen.

Note:

Must be able to work independently. ECSA registration is not required for this position.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a technical diploma. Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Structural Engineering, preferably within the Building & Construction industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., PROCON) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD). Familiarity with Revit is a plus. Knowledge: Strong understanding of materials science and engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

Quoting: Prepare quotes for structural designs based on project specifications Structural Design: Create detailed designs for foundations, decks, and superstructures Analysis: Use software tools to perform structural analysis and ensure compliance Materials Selection: Recommend appropriate materials considering weight, strength, and corrosion resistance Documentation: Prepare technical reports and specifications for projects Project Management: Assist with planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure timely project completion Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet safety and environmental standards Quality Control: Participate in inspections to maintain design integrity during construction
