Brief description



The main purpose of this position is to develop, implement and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS), quality management and compliance strategies and frameworks that align with global best practice, and to ensure adherence to OHS and quality standards.



Detailed description



The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:


Contribute to the development of the divisional operational plan and manage the implementation thereof in the Safety and Quality section. Design, develop and implement OHS and quality frameworks, policies and procedures and integrate OHS and quality principles into all business processes in alignment with international standards and best practice. Establish and monitor key performance indicators for OHS and quality reporting and assurance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate OHS and quality practices into core business functions. Ensure compliance with local, national and international OHS regulations and standards. Establish and maintain an OHS legal register to ensure compliance with legal requirements and keep up to date with relevant changes in OHS and related legislation and initiatives, including international legislation, where applicable. Manage the implementation and maintenance of OHS and quality management systems in line with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001 and ISO 9001 standards. Maintain regular communication of new statutory requirements, best practice, standards and policies to ensure full awareness of all relevant stakeholders. Advise key internal stakeholders on OHS and quality, and research OHS and quality issues, concerns and stakeholder interests. Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of OHS and quality documentation and records for compliance purposes. Manage OHS and quality assessments and ensure they are conducted in line with standards. Review assessment reports for all projects and ensure that the OHS and quality principles are incorporated accordingly. Collaborate, influence and advise on procurement and supply chain processes to ensure alignment and compliance with contractor OHS and quality files to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Division specifications. Identify and assess OHS and compliance risks within business operations and facilitate the development of mitigation strategies for identified risks, ensuring adherence to all standards. Develop early interventions to support the implementation of OHS and quality management system requirements, organise quality assurance programmes and lead continuous improvement initiatives. * Manage the performance and development of the team.
